How do you start your day?

Do you wake up thinking "oh gosh, another day at work!" or saying "I am sooooo tired!"
Well, chances are, your day will not be a very good one, because the way we begin our mornings sets the mood for the rest of the day...
When I was living in the city, I used to get up 40 minutes before the children (that was 6.30am) and go for a walk to our local park, whilst listening to my favourite music. Yes, we are lucky in NZ, there is always a park around the corner.
Now that I am in the countryside, I drop my girls off at the school bus pick up (that's 7.15am), and my dog Ashka takes me for a walk in the forest for an hour. We walk through the woods, not the main road, and this allows me to proclaim out loud: "Thank you Universe for this beautiful forest!", "Thank you for my dog, who takes me here every day!", "Thank you for my husband and my girls", "Thank you for my house, and this amazing land!". I must admit, it is a bit weird, but thankfully I have not run into another human being while doing this yet. As I express intense gratitude with all my body engaged, I experience awe for all the wonders in my life and my willingness to serve others becomes stronger.
Then I think of the challenges of the day, maybe the difficult cases I am seeing at the moment. I change to language I use to think or talk about them. Difficult cases become an exercise in creativity, as I explore new ways of interrupting the patterns that make these clients sick. Then, I repeat to myself "I am the most effective hypnotherapist of all times, I help people heal from sickness! Always!!!". You will find that powerful leaders consistently use this technique. Remember Mohamed Ali's phrase? "I am the greatest" took him to levels of boxing never seen before. Although this sounds like an arrogant ego trip, I know very well that what makes people heal is the certainty that they will. So I owe it to my clients to condition myself every morning; to deeply believe that I can transform people's lives. Every time.
So my question to you is....
What ritual can you create that will bring you awe and gratitude?
What do you want to achieve in your life, and what do you need to tell yourself every day in order to get there?
Remember...
The quality of your day is determined by how you start it.
