Last night I went to see the movie Wild, with Reese Witherspoon. At some point, Cheryl, the main character, a woman who is hiking 1000 miles to get over her troubled past, quotes her mother along these lines: "Every day, there is a sunrise and a sunset. You can choose to show up and see the beauty". It really got me.

So true! Why not make the most of those regular moments of magic?

So today, at 6.15 am, instead of getting up like a grumpy zombie to brew my coffee, out I was, going for a walk. I greeted two neighbours, patted the dog next door, saw a rabbit and many pukekos running away, while bathing in the incredible palette of the sunrise colours.

Long term effects? I feel content, light and inspired today. I can’t wait for that sunset!
